Rajju Porutham is calculated by identifying the birth stars of the bride and groom. Each of the 27 stars belongs to a specific Rajju group. Astrology then checks whether both stars fall under the same Rajju group or different groups.

If the stars belong to different Rajju groups, the porutham is considered acceptable. If both belong to the same Rajju group, it is usually treated as not favorable.
